Troubleshooting common Timer widget issues
The timer falls behind or pauses when you switch tabs.
- The Indify Timer corrects itself on refocus.
- You can also keep the timer's tab active for time-critical sessions.
No sound plays when the timer ends.
- Browsers block audio from auto-playing until you've interacted with the page, and embeds are especially restricted.
- Click the widget once after loading to enable the sound, check the volume/mute toggle in settings, and confirm the browser tab isn't muted (right-click the tab in Chrome).
The timer resets when you reload or navigate away.
- Make sure your browser isn't blocking storage for embeds. Private/incognito windows and strict cookie or tracking settings can clear a widget's saved state on reload.
- Check that third-party cookies/storage aren't blocked for the embedding site, and confirm you're returning to the same widget in the same location rather than a newly duplicated copy, which starts fresh.
Custom or premium sounds won't upload or play.
- Confirm you're on a Pro, since custom and premium sounds are paid features. If you're on the free plan, you'll have the preset sounds available but upgrading unlocks premium sounds and custom uploads.
- Check that your file is an MP3 or WAV and no larger than 5MB; other formats won't upload.
- Custom alerts also need to be 10 seconds or less, so if a longer file is uploaded, you’ll need to use the waveform trimmer to select up to a 10-second clip, then click Save to apply it.
