Troubleshooting your widgets
FAQs
Q: Can I still edit my widget after embedding it in Notion?
Yes. Any changes you make to your widget in Indify will automatically reflect in Notion. You don’t need to re-embed the widget. Read more about this here.
Q: Can I resize or move my widget within Notion?
Yes! You can resize and move your widget block anywhere in your Notion page.
- To move, drag the six-dot handle on the left of the embed block.
- To resize, click and drag the block’s edges.
Q: Will my widget continue to function and refresh in real time after embedding it in Notion?
Yes. Your widget will remain functional and dynamic in Notion. Any updates or edits you make in Indify (such as calendar changes or countdown updates) will be reflected in your Notion page instantly or after a short delay.
Q: What happens to my widget if I delete it from Indify?
If you delete a widget from your Indify dashboard, it will no longer appear in Notion. The embedded block will show a broken link or blank space.
Q: What should I do if my widget isn’t displaying in Notion?
If you see a blank box or an error message:
- Refresh your Notion page.
- Make sure you copied the embed link, not the dashboard link.
- Try removing and re-embedding the link.
If it still doesn’t load, check your browser’s security or cookie settings. Some blockers may prevent embeds from loading.
Notion × Indify – FAQ
Q: What is Indify and how does it work with Notion?
Indify lets you create customizable widgets (clocks, calendars, progress bars, countdowns, weather, etc.) and embed them into Notion pages via a simple URL. You configure the widget on Indify, copy its link, then embed it into Notion so it always stays in sync with your Indify settings.
Q: How do I embed an Indify widget in Notion?
Here are the steps:
- Go to Indify and create or open a widget.
- Configure its settings, then copy the widget URL from the bottom left of the Indify editor.
- In Notion, paste that URL into a page.
- When the popup appears, choose “Create embed”.
Notion will load the live widget inside your page.
Q: Can I resize Indify widgets in Notion?
Yes, but only on desktop. Notion only allows resizing embeds on desktop; you can drag the edges or drag the block into different column layouts. On mobile, embeds are fixed-width and follow Notion’s layout.
Q: Do Indify widgets work in the Notion mobile apps?
Yes. Most widgets are responsive and will display in the Notion iOS and Android apps as long as you’re online. Some highly interactive features may work better on desktop, but all widgets should at least render and update when opened.
Q: My widget isn’t loading in Notion (blank box or “refused to connect”). What should I try?
If you’re seeing this error, please try the following steps:
- Confirm you’re using the full https:// widget URL from Indify.
- Make sure you chose “Create embed” instead of “Paste as link.”
- Check your network or VPN: some corporate networks block external iframes.
- If your Notion page is shared publicly, ensure your widget is also public (not behind any authentication).
If it still fails, try loading the URL in a separate browser tab; if that doesn’t work, the issue is likely with the widget or network, not Notion.
Q: Can I use Indify widgets inside Notion databases, templates, and public pages?
Yes. Widgets work anywhere Notion supports embeds: inside database pages, template pages, and public shared pages. Just open the page body and embed the widget URL there.
Q: How do I update the design or settings of a widget already embedded in Notion?
Edit the widget directly on Indify (colors, fonts, settings, etc.) and save your changes. Because the Notion block is just a live URL, the embedded widget will reflect your updates automatically when the page reloads.
Q: Are Indify widgets safe and private to use in Notion?
Indify widgets are standard secure web pages served over HTTPS. They don’t require access to your Notion content; they only display the data you configure in Indify (and any connected services like calendars, if you enable those). For details, see Indify’s Terms and Privacy Policy linked in the Indify footer.
