“I’m in Canva a lot, and Indify just makes my content feel alive. The countdown and button widgets are simple to drop in, they look seamless with the transparency, and they actually get people to click. Canva × Indify – FAQ
Note: Canva’s embed behavior is evolving. Some features depend on Canva’s support for embedding third-party URLs via its Embed app and Iframely backend.
Q: Can I use Indify inside Canva designs or Canva websites?
In many cases, yes—Canva has an Embed element/app that lets you add certain external websites, forms, maps, and other interactive content into designs by URL. It uses Iframely to render supported URLs inside an iframe.
Q: How do I attempt to embed an Indify widget in Canva?
You can achieve this with the following steps:
- Create your widget on Indify and copy the widget URL.
- In Canva, open your design (presentation, website, etc.).
- Use Elements → Apps → Embed (or the “Embed” element, depending on UI).
- Paste the Indify URL.
- If Canva recognizes the URL as embeddable, it will insert a live embed frame that you can resize and position.
If Canva doesn’t recognize the URL, it may show an error or a basic link instead.
Q: The Indify URL isn’t embedding correctly in Canva. What are my options?
If you’re having issues, try the following steps:
- Double-check you pasted the correct https:// widget URL.
- Try re-inserting via the Embed app or element.
- If Canva only shows a link or fails to embed, use one of these fallbacks:
- Screenshot or export the widget from a browser and place it as an image in your design.
- Link text or a button in Canva to open the Indify widget in a browser tab.
Q: Will Indify widgets stay interactive when I download my Canva design as a PDF, PNG, or MP4?
No. Downloads like PDF, PNG, and video export flatten the design into static media, so external embeddings lose interactivity. Interactivity is retained when the design is viewed online as a Canva website, presentation, or through an embed of the Canva design on another site.
Q: Does Indify have an official Canva app?
At the moment, Indify is used via the generic Embed mechanism, not as a dedicated, listed Canva app. You simply use the widget URL like any other embeddable site.
Q: Are there any limitations to embeds inside Canva?
Canva notes that:
- Only certain URL types are supported by the Embed element.
- Users can resize, move, and rotate embeds, but can’t apply Canva effects directly to them.
- Canva stores a reference to the external media rather than the media itself.
If an Indify widget doesn’t work, it’s usually due to these platform-level limitations rather than the widget itself.
