The Button widget gives you a simple way to point people in the right direction. Whether it’s a social media link, a professional resource, a phone call or email shortcut, or something you want to highlight, you can customize the look and label to make it fit seamlessly into your space. The Button Widget gives you a consistent, accessible target that looks great across dashboards including flexible styles and labels, it adds both function and personality to launch a form, open a brief, jump to a board, or start a meeting in one click.
How to Set Up the Button Widget
Step 1: Create the Widget
- Go to Indify.co and sign in.
- Select Create New Widget.
- Choose Button from the widget library.
⚙️ Configure What Matters
Buttons
Manage your buttons. You drag to reorder them, and you can also click the three-dot menu on each button to duplicate, delete, or copy the style to other buttons.
Icon + Text - Choose any emoji or select from popular social icons like Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn. Add a custom label to describe the action.Action - Open a URL (web pages, Notion pages, mailto:, meeting links, app deep links when supported)
Colors - Select from a list of template colors to quickly style your button
Advanced Colors - Fine-tune your button's appearance with granular control:
- Background color - Set the button's fill color
- Background opacity - Adjust transparency of the background
- Outline color - Choose the border color
- Text color - Define the label text color
- Hover highlight - Set the background color when hovering
- Hover text color - Define the text color when hovering
Step 2: Customize the Widget
- Add a Button Label and Icon, and URL. Enter the address where you want people to be redirected when they click the button.
- You can also rearrange the button order by clicking and dragging the section header.
🎨 Personalize Your Aesthetic
Font family
Choose the typeface that will be applied to all button labels. Select from Default, Serif and Mono.
Size
Adjust the height and width of your buttons to make them more or less prominent on your page. Options include Small, Medium, and Large.
Corner rounding
Set corner roundness from sharp to fully rounded to match your workspace style.
Button layout
Choose from three layout options:
- Horizontal: Buttons in a row, ideal for command bars.
- Vertical: Buttons stacked in a column, great for side panels.
- Full width: Buttons stretch across the container for maximum visibility.
Button alignment
For horizontal layouts, choose how your buttons should be spaced out from each other.
Note: Layouts other than horizontal do not have a customizable alignment setting
Color Settings
Update text colors & background colors to keep your aesthetics consistent in different environments.
Light and Dark Mode
Sync your widget’s appearance seamlessly with your platform’s environment, by selecting light mode, dark mode, use system setting, or do nothing.
Step 3: Paste Your Embed
- Copy the widget’s embed link from Indify.
- Open your Notion workspace.
- Type “/embed” and paste the link into your desired page.
- Resize and position the widget as needed.

Yes. The Button Widget is free; but certain features like having a transparent background require upgrading to the Creator Plan.
Q: Can a button open a Notion page?
Yes! To link to an internal Notion page, use a notion:// URL (e.g., notion://www.notion.so/...) so the button opens directly in the Notion app. A regular https:// Notion link will also work, but it opens in the browser instead.
Q: Can I make multiple buttons side-by-side?
Yes! The Button Widget is the only Indify widget that lets you add multiple instances in a single embed, so you can build a full command bar or action strip without creating separate widgets.
Q: Can a button open an email draft or meeting link?
Yes! Add mailto: before an email address to create a quick link that opens an email draft, or paste a meeting URL to jump directly into Teams, Zoom, or Google Meet.
Q: Can a button open a phone dialer?
Yes! Use a tel: URL (e.g., tel:+1234567890) to create a button that opens your device's phone dialer with the number pre-filled, making it easy to call directly from your Notion page.
Q: Do I need to re-embed after edits?
No, edit in Indify and the changes reflect in your existing Notion embed on page / widget refresh.
