The Timer Widget is a live, embeddable work timer. Use it as a simple countdown timer, or as a Pomodoro focus timer that moves between focus sessions, short breaks, and long breaks. It runs directly on any page that supports embeds. It plays an alert sound when a session ends, and it saves your tasks and your session history to the cloud. Whether you study, write, code, teach, or run a team sprint, the Timer Widget keeps the session and the task you chose front and center, right where work happens.

How to Set Up the Timer Widget
Step 1: Create the Widget
- Go to Indify.co and sign in.
- Select Create New Widget.
- Choose Timer from the widget library.
- Select a timer mode, then set your duration or your focus preset.
Tip: Use Simple mode for one countdown. Use Focus mode for the Pomodoro cycle of focus sessions and breaks.
⚙️ Configure What Matters
Timer mode
Choose Simple for one timer that you set yourself. Choose Focus for a Pomodoro cycle that moves between Focus, Short Break, and Long Break.
Progress indicator
Choose how progress appears alongside the digits: None for just the numbers, a Circular ring around them, or a Bar below them.
Default duration
Simple mode only: Set the time that the timer starts with, up to 180 minutes.
For both modes: Use the + and − buttons on the widget to adjust the time before you start. Hold a button to change the time faster.
Focus presets
Focus mode only: A preset holds a name, a focus duration, a short break, a long break, and a color for each phase. Classic Pomodoro (25/5/15) and Extended Focus (50/10/30) are built-in. The free plan includes 2 presets.
Long break after
Focus mode only: Set the number of focus sessions that run before a long break. The default is 4.
Count up from 0
Toggle on to count up to the duration instead of down to zero.
Stop between sessions
Focus mode only: Toggle on to pause at the end of each phase. Toggle off to start the next phase automatically.
Tasks and tags
Focus mode only: Select What are you working on? on the widget to open the task list. Add a task, give it a deadline, and apply tags. Pin one task to make it the active task. The widget then shows that task under the digits. The free plan includes 3 tasks and 3 tags.
Step 2: Customize the design
- Pick a progress indicator: none, a circular ring, or a bar.
- Choose the alert sound, the volume, and the number of repeats.
- Choose fonts, colors, and the widget size.
- Set light or dark mode, and a background color or transparency.
🎨 Personalize Your Aesthetic
Alert sound
Choose the sound that plays when a session ends. The library holds 18 sounds. Default, Minimalist, Peaceful, and Meditation are free. The other sounds need Timer Pro. Select a tile to hear it.
Custom sound
Timer Pro only: Upload your own MP3 or WAV file, up to 5MB, then trim up to 10 seconds of it.
Repeat sound
Set the number of times the alert repeats, from 1 to 10. Select ∞ to repeat the alert until you dismiss it.
Digit font family
Choose the font for the timer digits. A retro seven-segment font and a bold display font are included.
Text font family
Choose the font for labels, buttons, and task names.
Widget size
Set the maximum size of the timer: small, medium, or large.
Phase colors
Focus mode only: Each preset holds its own color for the focus, short break, and long break phases. The color shows in the phase dots and in the progress indicator.
Progress color
Simple mode only: Choose the color of the circular ring or the bar.
Text shadows
Display shadows behind text to increase contrast between the text and the background.
Color Settings
Set the digit color, the text color, and the background color. Each color has a separate value for light mode, dark mode, and a custom background.
Light and Dark Mode
Sync your widget’s appearance seamlessly with your platform’s environment, by selecting light mode, dark mode, use system setting, or do nothing.
Step 3: Paste Your Embed
- Copy the widget’s embed link from Indify.
- Open your Notion workspace.
- Type “/embed” and paste the link into your desired page.

Troubleshooting the Timer Widget
FAQs
Q: What is the difference between Simple mode and Focus mode?
Simple mode runs one timer that you set with the + and − buttons. Focus mode runs a Pomodoro cycle: a focus session, a short break, and a long break after a set number of sessions.
Q: Does the timer keep running if I reload or close the page?
Yes. The widget records the end time in your browser. When you come back, a running timer resumes at the correct time. If you change the duration or the preset, the widget starts fresh.
Q: Why does the alert sound not play?
Browsers block audio until a person interacts with the page. Select Start on the widget one time. The widget then unmutes and plays the alert at the end of the session. You can also select the speaker icon to unmute and to set the volume.
Q: Can I track my focus history?
Yes. Select the chart icon on the widget to open Activity Stats. It shows your current streak, your longest streak, your focus score, lifetime totals, focus time per day, a breakdown by task or tag, and a 26-week focus heatmap. Activity Stats needs Timer Pro.
Q: Can I export my session data?
Yes. Open the widget in Indify, then select Export data (CSV) at the top of the settings page. Indify downloads every session as a CSV file. This needs Timer Pro.
Q: How many tasks, tags, and presets does the free plan include?
The free plan includes 3 tasks, 3 tags, and 2 focus presets. Timer Pro removes these limits.
Q: Can I embed more than one timer on the same page?
Yes. Create a separate widget in Indify for each timer, then embed each link in your workspace.
Q: Is the Timer Widget available on the free plan?
Yes. Simple mode, Focus mode, tasks, tags, and the free alert sounds all work on the free plan. Timer Pro unlocks unlimited tasks, tags, and presets, the full sound library, custom sounds, Activity Stats, and CSV export. The Creator Plan adds unlimited widgets, unlimited dashboards, and enhanced styling such as transparent backgrounds. It also includes one Pro widget upgrade of your choice.
